Anastasia Samoylova (b. Moscow) is a Miami-and New York-based artist whose work moves across photography, painting and installation. Working between observational imagery and studio-based intervention, she has established a singular practice that examines how contemporary life is shaped, mediated and mythologized through images. Her work engages the entanglement of environmental crisis, consumer spectacle and political imagination, revealing the tensions between surface and structure, seduction and instability, reality and representation.

Samoylova has exhibited internationally at Aperture Foundation in New York; Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Mass.; Suwon Photography Festival in South Korea; and Pingyao International Photography Festival in China. Her work has also been included in the Museum of Contemporary Photography collection in Chicago and the ArtSlant Prize collection in Paris.

Samoylova’s work has been published in The New Yorker and Foam magazine. Among her published monographs are Atlantic Coast (Aperture, 2025), Adaptation (Thames & Hudson, 2024) and Image Cities (Fundación MAPFRE, 2023). Select solo exhibitions include Atlantic Coast at the Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. (2026) and the Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach (2025); and Floridas: Anastasia Samoylova and Walker Evans at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (2024). Her work is also held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Pérez Art Museum Miami; the High Museum of Art, Atlanta; and the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, among others.
